The 2nd Annual First-Year Experience Liberal Studies Majors and Career Fest was held on Friday, October 20 in the Fourth Floor Lounge. The FYE Majors and Career Fest was an opportunity for first-year students and others to hear about exciting majors, minors, internships, networking, career opportunities, and ways to get involved here on the Medaille College campus. Carol Cullinan, pictured here, invited first-year students to begin using Career Planning services in their first year, as opposed to waiting until their senior year, when students typically come in for help with the job search, resume writing, or exploring graduate and professional school opportunities. Dr. Ramsey would like to thank Dr. Rich Jacobs, who talked to the students about internships and getting the most out of your college experience; Tyler Welsh, ’15, Alumni Engagement Coordinator/Newspaper Advisor, who talked about networking and student activities, including writing for the College newspaper; and Lindy Feider, who encouraged students to come in and meet with their academic counselor to discuss majors, spring registration and degree requirements here at Medaille The students also heard from Cecelia DeStefano, who talked about signing up for the new Emerging Leaders Development Program. A free lunch was provided, and one lucky student walked away with the $50 Visa Gift Card raffle prize.
