Dr. Alice Villaseñor has been asked to speak at the November meeting of the Central and Western New York Region of JASNA (the Jane Austen Society of North America).  The lecture will take place in the Community Room of the Pittsford Barnes and Noble at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 16.  The event is free and open to the public.

Her presentation, “Edward Austen Knight’s Godmersham Library and Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey,” highlights the marginalia she has discovered in books from the estate library of one of Jane Austen’s brothers.  This lecture is a reprise of the talk she recently gave at the Annual General Meeting of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) in Colonial Williamsburg, VA.

More information about the event, and the local Jane Austen group, can be found at the following link: http://jasnacwny.blogspot.com/2019/11/jane-austen-and-godmersham-library.html

Dr. Villaseñor is pictured in front of Chawton House Library in Hampshire, England.  The estate was once owned by Jane Austen’s brother, Edward Austen Knight.
