Medaille College’s First-Year Experience (FYE) Program recently wrapped up its six-week, spring 2019 “Power of You” leadership certificate series that featured facilitator Tamara McMillan and Sean Covey’s The Seven Habits of Highly Effective College Students. This personal “learn-shop” was designed to assist students with creating greater success in college and in life. Scholars were acquainted with personal leadership concepts found in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students, and the series included sessions on problem solving, active listening and building better relationships. Seventeen students attended four or more of the six sessions and were awarded the “Power of You” leadership certificate.

Student engagement is a key component in student retention. FYE Program Director Dr. James Ramsey and facilitator Tamara McMillan would like to congratulate Albert Morales, Carlos Espana, Stanley Simpson II, Amber Benjamin, Melvin Steele, Byanca Temmons-Barnwell, Israh Ibrahim, Reilly Girard, Kyla Hobbs, Aliyah Dandy, Dajsha Laguerre, Dialo Steven-Rivera, James Misercola, Hein Hiet Zaw Saw, James Bevelacqua, Stephan Broadbent-Shelton and David Roche on earning leadership certificates. First-Year Experience would also like to thank faculty and staff for supporting the “Power of You” series.
