Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians. This Fall semester, the BIO422L Herpetology Lab will be hosting a seminar series. Guest speakers will be visiting Medaille (virtually) to discuss the importance of reptiles and amphibians in their scientific research.

The third presentation in this seminar series will start at 2 p.m. this Friday, November 13 on Blackboard Collaborate. (Please click on the link to join in!)

This seminar will feature a presentation on a career in regeneration research by Dr. Nour Al Haj Baddar, Post-Doctoral Scholar at the University of Kentucky at Lexington. The Talk is entitled: ““Why can axolotls regenerate tissues, but we can’t?” Dr. Nour Al Haj Baddar will be speaking about the amazing regenerative potential observed among salamanders. Her recent research focuses on the identification and characterization of the functional roles of novel duplicated genes from the highly regenerative salamander, the Mexican axolotl.
