Office of Human Resources will be hosting two lunch and learn wellness seminars:

Topic:  For Your Healthy Back

Date:  Thursday, October 27

Time:  12 – 1:30

Place:  President’s Dining Room
Lunch will be served at noon followed by the presentation at 12:30.

This session will offer techniques to aid in back injury prevention including:  gentle stretching routines and simple exercises.  Recommendations on safe and unsafe postures for the back will be incorporated as well.

Topic:  Avoiding Slips, Trips and Falls

Date:  Tuesday, November 1

Time:  12 – 1:30

Place:  President’s Dining Room
This session will focus on increasing your awareness of everyday hazards to prevent slips, trips and falls, ultimately creating a safer work environment.
Lunch will be served at noon followed by the presentation at 12:30.

The presenter for both seminars will be Tom Haney, one of WNY’s most recognized fitness authorities and health promotion advocates. He has been the Wellness Administrator at Independent Health, Executive Director of the Village Glenn Tennis & Fitness Club, Physical Coordinator for the Buffalo Sabres, Conditioning Consultant for the Buffalo Bills, and a Governor’s appointee to the NYS Department of Health’s Osteoporosis Advisory Council. Tom is also a member of the Board of Directors of WNY Wellness Works, cofounder of the WNY Cardiac Rehab Program, the host of Talk Food/Talk Health on WGR radio and a trainer to many Olympic and world-class athletes.
