I am very pleased to announce a new and exciting wellness challenge the College will be offering in the new year:  Healthy Adds Up!

The Human Resources Office would like to invite any faculty and staff who are interested and available to join us with this challenge, which begins on January 6 and ends on February 16.

What is Healthy Adds Up?

This 6-week progressive, wellness challenge incorporates water consumption with stretching and physical activity. Participants will be encouraged to drink 80oz water daily, stretch daily and work up to 150 minutes of physical activity per week.

Participants will be given weekly tips, challenges and education on the benefits of drinking water, stretching daily and living an active lifestyle, as well as a tracker for recording achievements and to help participants stay motivated. The challenge will begin January 6, 2014 and end on February 16, 2014.

What are the weekly goals?

Week 1 Drink 80oz or 10 cups of water each day
Week 2 Stretch daily and continue to drink water daily
Weeks 3 & 4 Add in 75 minutes of physical activity each week while continuing to stretch and drink water each day
Weeks 5 & 6 Be physically active for 150 minutes each week and continue to stretch and drink water each day

How do I sign up to participate?

 Please contact Gloria Shields x2208 or by December 16, 2013 to sign up for Healthy Adds Up and to receive your tracker and pre-program survey. Participants who complete their tracker and surveys and submit it to Gloria Shields by December 16, 2013 will be entered into a raffle to win a FitBit Zip activity monitor! A grand prize Healthy Adds Up basket will be awarded to the participating organization that returns the highest percentage of completed trackers and surveys!
