Raymond Drechsel, Instructional Technology Specialist
What is your education and background?
I earned my AS degree in Computer Information Systems from Erie Community College. I started at Medaille as an intern in 2010 with Pam Diaz in Amherst. I became part-time in 2011 working with Chet Klimek and now I’m currently full-time as the Instructional Technology Specialist.
Tell us about your typical work day…
I attend meetings throughout the day and respond to many e-mails. It is interesting because I get to check out and work with new technology for classrooms. Also, I travel to Rochester about three times a month for classroom upgrades and faculty & staff support.
What is your favorite part of working at Medaille?
The positive atmosphere.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy photography, wood-working and activities outdoors, such as hunting and fishing.
If you could eat dinner with one famous person, who would it be?
Tommy Lee Jones, because he is a bad ass dude and stars in good movies.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?
Sicily, Rome, Naples… my grandparents came from there and I would love go there and visit.
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three items would you like to have with you?
A machete, a tarp and duct tape
