On March 24, the Education Graduate Student Society (EGSS) sponsored “Humor in the Classroom” for graduate education students. Colleen Kelley, a verteran teacher for the Williamsville School District presented a fun and timely presentation on the use of humor in the classroom to engage, motivate, and encourage happiness and positive energy with children while they learn. Ms. Kelley shared practical and fun tips, strategies and anecdotes with the teacher candidates to help them succeed in their upcoming student teaching placements and beyond. She had the room laughing and practicing skills and strategies that will help the future teachers prepare their philosophies of teaching and classroom management plans for their own classrooms.
