March is a special time for us to honor and celebrate the achievements of women throughout history and those in our nation and community today!

The following Women’s History Month events, sponsored by the Multicultural Association (MCA), are being held at Medaille and are open to faculty, staff, and students:

3/3/2014 – Women’s History Month Kick-off Event, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Center
3/19/2014 – Viewing and Discussion of Miss Representation, 7 p.m. Pizza, 7:30 p.m. viewing followed by discussion in the Lecture Hall
3/28/2014 – Women’s History Month Play – Vagina Monologues, 7 p.m. in the Lecture Hall ($2 admission fee goes to support the local Crisis Services Center)

In addition, the students, faculty, and staff of Medaille are invited to a Women’s History Month kick-off event on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the downtown Central Library. The keynote speaker for this event will be Elizabeth Fildes, an Erie County Deputy Sheriff who oversees the Human Trafficking division in the area and does consulting on human trafficking on a global level. The event will also include a showcase of non-profits and their services supporting women in the WNY community.
