An article titled “A Meta-analytical Synthesis and Examination of Pathological and Problem Gambling Rates and Associated Moderators Among College Students, 1987–2016” by Dr. Donald Nowak will be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Gambling Studies, the preeminent journal in the field of gambling disorder research. Among many results, Dr. Nowak’s findings included that more than 16% of college students qualify for some form of gambling disorder, with male minority students particularly at risk. Dr. Nowak plans further articles in the field, including studies of college student-athletes and gambling as well as examining gambling disorder and the LGBTQ population.
