The first full time teaching faculty meeting for the 2014-2015 academic year was held on Friday September 12, 2014, from 1:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. in the Huber Hall Building. The Faculty Council acknowledged the contributions of senior faculty members, Mrs. Deborah Ceppaglia, (Professor, Reference/Instructional Librarian) and Dr. Ross Runfola (Professor, Applied and Social Science Division) for their continued years of service and active leadership as members of the Faculty Council at Medaille College. In addition to serving on Faculty Council, Mrs. Deborah Ceppaglia assumed the role of Council Chair for several years. Faculty Council members also recognized Dr. Susan Dunkle (Assistant Professor, Division of Education) for her year of service (2013-2014). These aforementioned faculty members were presented with a small token of appreciation, followed by a standing ovation for their contributions to Faculty governance.
In addition to the recognition of previous Faculty Council members, the current Faculty Council members elected to serve for the 2014 -2015 academic year were also acknowledged and the new council members were introduced: Dr. Brenda Fredette, Dr. Lynn Horne-Moyer, Val Macer, Tom Orrange, Dr. John Schedel and Dr. Elaine Correa (Chair). The current team of Council members reflects an extremely dedicated, highly energetic group of representatives who are prepared to work collaboratively to address the issues and needs of the faculty. The Faculty Council is looking forward to working together with the administration to ensure a productive and prosperous academic year.
Welcome New Faculty Members
One of the highlights from the full faculty meeting was the introduction of new faculty members to the Medaille community. Divisions Heads, Dr. Brenda Fredette, Dr. Richard Jacob, and Dr. Daniel Kotzin, introduced the following new faculty in their respective divisions: Dr. Bernadette Clabeaux (Division of Veterinary & Natural Sciences, Dr. Don Nowak and Dr. Jack Anchin ( Graduate Division of Applied and Social Sciences), and Mr. Matt Kotula, Dr. Bridgette Slavin, and Mr. Drew Marsherall (Division of Liberal Arts and Communication). We are pleased that these scholars have joined our full time teaching community, and wish them a most enjoyable teaching experience at Medaille.
