Dr. Susan Dunkle, an associate professor in Medaille’s Department of Education, has presented her topic, A Literature Review of Andragogy, its methods and principles, to inform educators of adult learners about best teaching practices, at the European University Continuing Education Network (EUCEN) in June, 2018.

The conference was attended by 100’s of colleagues from universities throughout the European Union and beyond. The organization focuses on University Life Long Learning (ULLL) and to inform organization members by providing the most relevant research to both serve students and influence European policy on ULLL.

The purpose of Dr. Dunkle’s research and literature review is to examine ways in which adult students learn, the principles that apply to adult learning, which strategies best serve adult learners, and how to apply these strategies to provide the most relevant and comprehensive educational experiences to our adult learners at institutes of higher education.

Dr. Dunkle wishes to thank the College, and her colleagues, for their on-going support of her research.

Dr. Dunkle has taught at Medaille since 2006, instructing undergraduate and graduate students in math, science and technology methods of education, foundations of education, curriculum planning and children’s literature. She has also advised student teachers and directed master’s thesis projects.
