Nationally recognized behavioral couples therapy (BCT) expert Keith Klostermann, Ph.D., LMFT, LMHC, an assistant professor in Medaille’s master’s in clinical mental health counseling program, has been recognized with the North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NARACES) Counselor Educator of the Year Award. The prestigious honor will be presented to Dr. Klostermann at the NARACES Biannual Conference in Syracuse, NY.

According to the organization, the Marijane Fall/NARACES Counselor Educator of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual who “has made a contribution in one or more specialty areas; has shown leadership in state, regional or national counseling organizations; consistently finds the good in others through kindness, empathy and warmth; and has reached out to others in spirit, scholarship, and deed, and made a profound difference in the lives of those so touched.”

NARACES promotes counselor education and supervision master’s and doctoral students, faculty and site supervisors in the United States and around the world. The organization encourages quality education and supervision of professional counselors.

Dr. Klostermann’s research involves the investigation of intimate partner violence among married or cohabiting substance-abusing individuals. He is the author of nearly 80 publications and presentations. Dr. Klostermann recently received Medaille’s 2016 Dr. Brian R. Shero Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award.

Dr. Keith Klostermann has been recognized with the North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NARACES) Counselor Educator of the Year Award.
