Dr. Nowak Publishes Two Articles on Gambling Disorder in College Students
Dr. Donald Nowak, Jr., Ph.D., a clinical assistant professor in Medaille College’s Department of Counseling & Clinical Psychology, has recently published two articles in an ongoing series of research submissions examining gambling disorder in the college student population. The first, “College Student Gambling Disorder: A Review of Research (1991-2017),” in the Chronicle Journal of Addiction and Therapy, surveyed the past quarter-century of research on the topic. While “A Meta-Analytical Synthesis and Examination of Pathological and Problem Gambling Rates Among College Athletes,” forthcoming in the Journal for the Study of Sports and Athletes in Education, looked at the athlete subset of the college population, as well as the impact of NCAA rules and regulations on athletes’ gambling while in college.
