Dr. Donald Nowak, Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Counseling & Clinical Psychology, will have two articles published this fall related to his research into college student-athletes and gambling disorder. The first, “Gambling Disorder in the College Student-Athlete Population: An Overview,” will be featured in the Journal of Gambling Issues (the preeminent journal in the field) and will examine the rates of both pathological and problem gambling among college athletes, while a review of the existing literature, “Addicted to Winning: A Review of Gambling Disorder in College Athletes” will also be published this fall in the Journal of Substance Abuse and Alcoholism.

An interview with Dr. Nowak about his research and some relevant issues of college student gambling will be featured in the upcoming winter issue of the Medaille magazine.
