Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Medaille College, Dr. Caitlin Riegel, has been selected to serve as the Eastern Regional Representative for the Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges for Teacher Education (AILACTE).

As an educator familiar with the need for small institutions to have a voice at the national, state, and campus level in matters related to teacher education, Dr. Riegel will assist AILACTE institutions in sharing concerns, issues and viewpoints in hopes of effecting change and promoting quality teacher education.

As the Eastern Regional Representative, Dr. Riegel will appoint representatives for each state in the region, assist state representatives with recruitment of new members, maintain communication with state representatives, institutions, and potential member institutions in the region, and coordinate the State Representatives Forum at the AILACTE Annual Meeting.
