Dr. Ryan Woodcock Presents at the Monadnock Region Natural History Conference
On November 12, Department of Science Math and Technology Assistant Professor Dr. M. Ryan Woodcock gave a research presentation at the Monadnock Region Natural History Conference, in Keene, New Hampshire. His talk presented the new scientific discoveries gained through a novel class research project conducted by Medaille students in BIO422 Herpetology Lab during the fall of 2020. The presentation was entitled: “Spots to the Left, Right, or Center? Dorsal Spot Patterns and Symmetry in Spotted Salamanders (Ambystoma maculatum) of the Monadnock Region.“
The program was sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and featured 16 talks on a variety of natural history topics, including wildlife, forest ecology, climate change and community science. A separate poster session included presentations on invasive plants, water quality, raptors, wild bees, vernal pools and more! The conference offered a rich day of learning and community for scientists, educators, students, naturalists and everyone who cares about the natural world.
