“Tekla’s Child,” a story by Medaille English professor Dr. Mary Louise Hill, was published October 1st in the Poydras Review. The story can be found here: https://poydrasreview.com/blog/2018/10/1/teklas-child.

In other publication news from Dr. Hill, her story “Tansy Tea” was named a finalist in december magazine’s 2018 Curt Johnson Prose Award in Fiction, which was judged by writer Ann Tyler.

These two stories were both inspired by Dr. Hill’s research in Polish-American immigration history and her own Polish ancestry. An article based on that research will also appear in October 2018, in the Polish Genealogical Society of America’s quarterly journal, Rodziny.
