Gayle Eagan ’66, Esq., was the alumni recipient of the Fr. Medaille Award for Service & Citizenship at the 2014 Founders’ Day Celebration. The celebration, held on April 9 on the stage of Shea’s Performing Arts Center, is the College’s signature fundraising event, which directly supports student scholarships.
Eagan was chosen to receive the Fr. Medaille Award for Service & Citizenship because she exemplifies the spirit of the founders’ of Medaille, which is to serve others. Eagan is a partner at Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLP in Buffalo. She co-founded Canopy of Neighbors, an organization that assists people age 62 or over to remain in their homes as they age. She recently completed serving 10 years as a member of the board of directors of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo and is a past president of Legal Services for the Elderly, Disabled or Disadvantaged of WNY.
The Fr. Medaille Award for Service & Citizenship was also awarded to a student and faculty member at Medaille as well as an organization in the Western New York Community.
The event raised nearly $40,000 for student scholarships, which will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students during the 2014-15 academic year.
