Visit Medaille College on Tuesday, November 7 from 4:30-5:30 p.m., as the Department of Education Reading Center will be hosts of Each Kindness, pictures storybook illustrated by artist E.B. Lewis. Local teacher Maureen Roussi will be demonstrating how to effectively use the read aloud strategy with children. Maureen is a teacher for the Grand Island School District and has been in elementary education for 20 years. She was the recipient of the 2006 Award of Excellence from the WNY Service Council. Books from the authors of the Western New York Children’s Book Expo will be the literature of focus during the event. The Read Aloud session will be held at the Medaille College Buffalo Campus Reading Center at 77 Humboldt Parkway unless we outgrow the space. If that happens, we will be in the Main Building Lecture Hall.

KidsLit Week is part of the Western New York Children’s Book Expo (WNYCBE) festivities. The WNYCBE is a free literacy event that will take place at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center on Saturday, November 11 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Check out the WNYCBE website for details.
