Medaille Legacy Pollinator Garden
On April 20, student, faculty and staff volunteers gave of their time to help with the initial installation of the Medaille Legacy Pollinator Garden, located just outside of the Sullivan Center on campus. This lasting educational initiative was planned and sponsored by the Medaille Employee Engagement Committee, the Life Sciences Club and Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Bernadette Clabeaux ’05. The Medaille team worked closely with local icon and nature enthusiast “Butterfly Man” Dave O’Donnell, who also joined the Medaille community to help with lifting sod, shoveling in soil and planting some native pollinator plants. Moving forward, a team of volunteers will be installing a number of other native plant species after the last frost of the year, and plans are being developed for a future butterfly release and rock painting event. #MavsVolunteer #MavsLife #MedailleFamily
