Medaille’s Founders’ Day Celebration 2016 was held at the Lexus Club at First Niagara Center on June 9, and among the highlights was the recognition of Charles E. Moran, Jr. as the fifth member of the College’s Heritage Council. Moran, the chair of Medaille’s board of trustees, also served as co-chair of Founders’ Day 2016 with his wife, Diane, and fellow trustee Heidi Raphael ’85.
In addition, Founders’ Day recognized the conclusion of Medaille’s Partnerships for Opportunity Comprehensive Campaign. Thanks to the generosity of numerous companies, foundations and individuals, the College met and exceeded its goal by raising more than $5 million. The Campaign provided funding for scholarships, student support programs, and campus renovation and expansion.
Founders’ Day, Medaille’s annual fundraising event, featured Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation President Thomas Dee as guest speaker, while Buffalo Sabres legend Danny Gare was celebrity auctioneer. Thanks to the generosity of corporate partners and loyal supporters, Founders’ Day provides for over 30 scholarships for hard-working and deserving students each year.
