Students and faculty from Medaille’s communication program delivered toys, food, books and gift cards collected during the program’s 10th Annual Toy & Food Drive to children at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital on March 12. Department of Communication & Sport Studies Chair Lisa Marsherall and Clinical Associate Professor Louis Pozantides ’86 organized the drive, in collaboration with Buffalo Police Department (BPD) Captain Stephen Nichols and the BPD. Medaille students Job Ayuba, Amber Gray, Raiah Brown, Cole Johnson and Stepanie Zawadski were on-hand to assist with the delivery. The drive supported Oishei Children’s Hospital’s Stone’s Buddies Program, which supports families coping with chronic and life-threatening illness.
The delivery earned media coverage on WGRZ-TV and WIVB-TV. As WGRZ’s Scott Levin put it, the donation and collaboration between Medaille and Buffalo Police is “so Buffalo.” Check out photos from the event on Flickr.
