Opioid Overdose Prevention Training
Save the Date!
What: Opioid Overdose Prevention Training
The Wellness Center is sponsoring an Opioid Epidemic Workshop on Monday, October 16, from 6-8 p.m. in the President’s Dining Room.
Participants will learn how to recognize an opioid overdose and how to administer the aerosol version of the lifesaving drug, Narcan. Narcan is a benign drug, and if it is administered to an individual who is not experiencing an opioid overdose, no harm will come to the individual.
Participants may receive a Narcan kit if the Erie County Health Department has sufficient supplies. If the county does not have sufficient supplies for everyone, those who would like to obtain a kit, will receive information on how to obtain it from a pharmacy and how to be reimbursed through New York State.
Please contact Health or Counseling Services for additional information.
