Taisha St. Jean, Class of May 2016, Communication major

Why did you choose Medaille?

I choose Medaille College because of the opportunity to grow as professional. Medaille offered an competitive internship program that other colleges can’t compete with. I knew when I walk in Medaille College that this was the place for me.

What are some of the accomplishments while you have been a student at Medaille that you are most proud of?

I am hardworker in and out of the classroom. I have won various awards at Medaille College from Who’s Who In American Colleges and Universities, Dean’s List, Merit Award and more. To be a successful you must stay focus and go after your dreams without any fear.

How have faculty/staff helped play a role in helping you become successful?

I believe to be successful you need to be surrounded by successful and phenomenal individuals. I was fortunate enough to have professors who loves their job such as Lisa Marshall, Lou  and Drew from Communication Department. While attending Medaille College I gained a mentor who empowered me to do incredible things in life. Jennifer Harris helped me become better person and to create blueprint.

I would not call the individuals at Medaille College faculty/ staff but more of family such as the staff sincerely cares and empowers me to do my best but also go after my career ambitions.

If you could eat dinner with anyone, who would you choose?

I would choose Emma Watson.

What three items would you want to have with you on a deserted island?

Fire, unlimited supply of clean water, and a radio

What are your plans for the future?

I will be starting my new position in City Hall as Common Council Staff. I will be going to get my master’s degree in Public Relations Task Management in the fall.  Hopefully, I will run for local political office.
