This past Saturday, the Medaille College Women’s Basketball Team, student club Enactus, and the Center for Community-Based Learning collaborated to bring youth from a local Boys & Girls Club and “big” and “little” matches from Big Brothers Big Sisters on campus to participate in basketball clinics dubbed Totally Active Kids (T.A.K.). Participants practiced new skills, learned about teamwork, and played a pick-up game. In a post-activity survey, many T.A.K. participants commented that they would like to attend Medaille College some day, and all of them indicated they had a great time. We look forward to continuing to find ways to collaborate with these organizations and our students here on campus.

Special thanks and acknowledgement to Women’s Basketball Coach Rachelle “Rock-o” Matthys and players Taina Graham, Alicia Montalvo, Kirstie Dlugosz, RayAnn Call, and Daesha Thomas; Patrick Brown and Andrew Bobek of Enactus; and CCBL graduate students Haniyyah Bashir and Merissa McKasty.
