On Wednesday October 19th, Medaille held its second This Medaille Believes event. Students and faculty gathered to discuss a few of their favorite essays from This I Believe, the 2016 freshman summer read book. The event was facilitated by Kyle Shrader, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Humanities. Students shared their thoughts and reactions to the ideas of stereotyping, passion, and humbleness; themes explored in some of the essays chosen for discussion.
Thanks to all of the students and faculty that attended and a special thanks to President Macur for joining us and participating in the discussion. The next event will be an open mic where students can read their own essays and the winners of the This Medaille Believes essay contest will be announced. Dr. Lori Quigley, our VPAA will also share her This I Believe essay. The event is on Thursday, November 10th at 6:00pm in the library.
